Exfoliate 24 hours prior to your spray tan with a basic loofah or wash rag. Also, stay away from any heavy exfoliating oils. After showering DO NOT apply lotions, oils or perfumes.
Shaving should be done 12 hours before your spray tan. Streaks may be an issue in your final tan if you shave right before due to the wax from the shaving bar.
Manicures, pedicures and waxing should all be done prior to your spray tan. Make sure to bring loose fitting clothes that fully cover your body for after your tan to avoid skin to skin contact.
Lighter tan solution should be left on for about 6-8 hours and the deeper tan solution can be rinsed off in 4-6 hours. For lighter tan solutions do NOT leave the bronzer on your skin for longer than 10 hours as it can over dehydrate the skin causing unwanted results. With deeper tan solutions it's important NOT to leave the bronzer on longer than 8 hours for the same reason. Express solutions have higher penetration enhancers and recommended for skin types II+. Should be rinsed off in 2-3 hours and should NOT be slept in.
Absolutely NO SOAP. A really slow rinse with luke-warm water is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer, and focus your attention on your legs, behind your arms, in your ears and around your nose, etc. The number one cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days so it's important that the first rinse is thorough. Pat yourself dry with a soft towel afterwards.
Hop back in the shower and do another rinse. If that doesn’t help, rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab will help remove the streak. Keep in mind that it will also remove the tan in the area you apply it to.
Cover your car seat with a dark towel to prevent sweating and streaking. Place some soft cloth over your seatbelt so it does not rub onto your neck/shoulder skin.
Avoid wearing a bra, socks or other restrictive clothing immediately after your session.
Follow the rinse off time I have specified for you.
If sleeping in the tanner be sure to use old sheets as some staining may occur. It should wash out, but be aware this may happen.
The length of your spray tan depends on the maintenance afterwards. Most people notice their tan begin to fade after about 4-7 days. Moisturizing and staying hydrated are two important factors that help maintain color. Refrain from showering in hot water to prolong your tan as well. Moisturize twice a day to extend the life of your beautiful spray tan.
Try rinsing again, soak in a bath tub, or sit in a sauna/jacuzzi. These methods will remove some of the bronzer to lighten the color.
NO! You will be blotchy.
To the appointment: Loose fitting dark clothes.
During the tan: Bra/underwear, swimwear, or nude. Whatever you are most comfortable with.
Just a heads up- retinol can cause your tan to fade faster and unevenly, especially on your face. I recommend skipping it a week before and after your tan if possible.
A trial spray tan is a must. It ensures I get your perfect shade, test how it wears, and see how it looks with your makeup, dress, and in photos.
Spray tans take up to 48 hours to fully develop, so it’s key to plan ahead and know exactly what to expect. Please book your tan 2 days before any big event. This ensures time for the tan to develop to its fullest and allows for a touch-up if needed.
